Hugh is a hippo (colorized in a light grey sometimes mixed with yellow undertones) who likes to dance (hip hop). He is a happy hippo (is there any other kind?). And he is a sharp dresser which sets the style for him and his crew consisting of fun messaged t-shirts over loosely fitting jeans. Accessories are sometimes worn which are square sunglasses and a baseball hat turned sideways or backwards. At all times, he wears one of his two necklaces over his t-shirt. One necklace bears his name , 'Hugh' and one which reads, 'Huge' (since "everything Hugh does, he does in a big way"). His clothing is colorful in primary colors. About his dancing, it's a theme for his personality. All stories have a run in with some music whereby Hugh instantly breaks into one dance move or another. He can wave, moonwalk, robot style, jump about as he dances and spin. He does not do any acrobatics in his moves.
